St James' School Choir

Choir 2016/ 2017

Welcome back Choir. I hope you are ready for another exciting year of Musical performances!

St James’ is very proud of their choir and music is a huge part of life at our school. We welcome a variety of performances and practice and perform songs from different genres. Here at St James’ there is a large gospel influence, and currently our favorite song is joyful joyful.

Who we are?

Membership of our choir is open to boys and girls from ks2. There are no auditions, we just ask for a love of singing and regular attendance.  Choir takes place twice a week during lunchtimes at 1.15- 1.45 (days yet to be announced).

We are lucky to have Miss Norman running the choir again this year, who is very talented, enthusiastic and has a real love for singing, creating some fantastic performances last year!

Easter Service

Ks1 and ks2 did a fantastic job in the service this Easter. The performances were truly outstanding and it was really powerful to see the whole school come together to sing with actions. The choir had a variety of songs including 'I could sing of your love forever' and 'You are good'. There was also some solo performances which were amazing to watch. Another flawless service organise by Miss Norman and with big contributions from a dedicated choir!

Christmas Carol service

Key Stage 2 took part in our Christmas carol service at St James’ church. It was fantastic to see the whole of ks2 come together to create such an exceptional service. Many thanks to the choir who gave up many lunchtimes to rehearse their songs and solos, it certainly paid off as all the songs were wonderful! A few of the songs sang were 'God rest ye merry gentleman' and 'Once in royal Davids city'. A special thanks to Miss Norman who organised the whole service.

isingPOP

We were very pleased to have isingPOP join our school for a very exciting and busy week. This involved the choir along with the whole school. Everyone had the opportunity to learn an amazing set of specifically written christian pop songs with actions, record a school album and perform a fantastic concert in the local church. We are all very proud of the children and how spectacular the final concert turned out to be.
